Qualifying Criteria

The Jameel Deeptech Initiative 2026 is designed for STEM research projects or early-stage ventures in the Health, Environmental, and Energy sectors.

Each research project or early-stage venture must be able to demonstrate high potential for social impact and commercial success in Saudi Arabia and beyond.

*We will consider all TRL levels**, but preference will be given to those that show the most potential to commercialize in the near term.*

A minimum of one and a maximum of three research team members or early-stage venture members must be available to participate in the entirety of the initiative, including all in-person and virtual events and modules
(see initiative dates below).

English proficiency is a must for the applicants, since the training bootcamp, the mentorship sessions, and the business pitches to the judges will be held in English.

The Top 30 Teams
2 Days

The Top 30 research teams or venture teams are invited to attend the JDTI Semi-Final Challenge, our challenging but rewarding 2-day event at KACST.

The highest performing 9 teams, 3 from each of the tracks over the 2-days will be put forward to attend the Jameel Deeptech Initiative 2026 venture building program.

The Winning 3 Teams
1 Day

Following numerous in-person and virtual modules, the highest performing three teams, one from each of the three tracks, will win one of the great grant prizes.
